NEWSELLS Park Stud’s stallion operation has received a major boost with the news that Nathaniel, last season’s King George winner, will retire to the Hertfordshire-based stud at the end of his racing career.

Andreas Jacobs’ stud has purchased a share in the four-year-old although he will continue to race in the colours of his breeder Lady Rothschild, the family’s racing and bloodstock advisor James Wigan told the Racing Post yesterday.

“We are thrilled to have purchased an interest in Nathaniel,” said Julian Dollar, general manager of Newsells Park Stud, which also stands Mount Nelson and Equiano, on Monday.

“He is a horse we have been watching very closely since he made his impressive two-year-old debut at Newmarket. He possesses an outstanding pedigree, is a great looking horse and is one of the best racehorses y in training. In short he ticks every box!”
