Cheltenham Festival Winner Concertista To Be Offered At Goffs December NH Sale

Goffs is delighted to reveal that Cheltenham Festival winning mare Concertista will be offered at the December National Hunt Sale which takes place from 6 – 8 December 2022.
Trained by Willie Mullins for owners Simon Munir and Isaac Suede, Concertista was the brilliant 12-length winner of the Grade 2 Dawn Run Mares Novice Hurdle at the 2020 Cheltenham Festival, having been a short-head second in the same race a year prior.  This was followed by a pair of Graded hurdle wins at Fairyhouse and Leopardstown before returning to the Festival as odds-on favourite for the Grade 1 Mares Hurdle where she was runner up by the narrowest of margins in a photo finish with Black Tears.  Concertista was also Grade 1 placed at Punchestown in 2021 before winning back-to-back Grade 2 chases at Cork and Limerick.

An outstanding prospect for National Hunt and Flat breeders alike, the French bred Concertista is an eight-year-old daughter of Nathaniel out of the winning Selkirk mare Zagzig who has produced six winners from six runners which include two French Stakes winning and Group 1 placed siblings to Concertista.

Concertista will join other high-class mares already confirmed for the sale including Grade 2 John Mulhern Galmoy Hurdle winner Royal Kahala and Grangee whose four wins include the Grade 2 mares bumper at the Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown.

Announcing Concertista for the December National Hunt Sale, Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said:

“Concertista is a remarkable mare and will be an asset to any broodmare band.  Her superb record over hurdles and fences is matched by a wonderful black type pedigree and we are honoured that Simon Munir and Isaac Suede have chosen the December National Hunt Sale to offer her for sale.

Our team have worked with vendors to compile a mouth-watering December National Hunt catalogue that will feature three days of top-class foals and a boutique breeding stock section where the focus is firmly on quality over quantity.  This sale has produced record results for vendors in recent years, most notably the highest ever price for a NH mare at public auction, and the opportunity to purchase a Cheltenham Festival winner in Concertista is sure to capture the imagination of so many breeders”.

The December National Hunt catalogue will be published in early November.
