On Saturday 4 December, the first day of the Vente d’Elevage, Deauville will offer a selection of 240 of the highest quality mares, fillies and foals, to which three further Wild Cards have been added.

The winner of the Prix de l’Opéra (Gr.1) last month, the excellent ROUGIR will be offered by Sumbe as lot 160. Victorious in her first two starts as a juvenile, the Haras de la Gousserie owned filly then finished third in the Prix Marcel Boussac (Gr.1) before winning the Prix des Réservoirs (Gr.3) the same year. This season, the Cedric Rossi-trained filly took the Prix de l’Opéra (Gr.1), beating the very talented GRAND GLORY. With a current rating of 118, the daughter of Territories is from a leading Aga Khan family of several Group 1 winners.

The dam of Kilboy Estate Stakes (Gr.2) runner-up LOVELY ESTEEM this season, PERSONA GRATA will be offered by Haras des Capucines as lot 170. A dual Listed winner and Group-placed, the daughter of Sir Percy is from the close family of this year’s excellent triple Australian Group 1 winner ZAAKI. The well-bred mare is from the family of Classic RIVERQUEEN, the dam of the very talented ROUVRES and ROSE KINGDOM. She is offered in foal to Night Of Thunder.

Also placed in the Prix de l’Opéra (Gr.1) this season behind ROUGIR and GRAND GLORY, EUDAIMONIA is lot 200. Trained by Edouard Montfort, she has progressed with every run. After a winning debut at Deauville as a three-year-old, she won four races on the trot before finishing third in the Prix de Conseil de Paris. Third in the Prix du l’Opéra (Gr.1) this season, she most recently finished runner-up in the Premio Lydia Tesio (Gr.2). With a current rating of 115 and a great outcross, she is out of a black-type winning half-sister to Group winner SEIHALI.
