It’s Kodiac Again As Hello Youmzain Prevails In the Diamond Jubilee

Hello Youmzain | Racing Post

The G1 Diamond Jubilee S. was another thriller on Saturday, with Haras d’Etreham and Cambridge Stud’s Hello Youmzain (Fr) (Kodiac {GB}) just holding on from last year’s runner-up Dream of Dreams (Ire) (Dream Ahead) in a pulsating finale. Breaking rapidly before gradually making his way to the stand’s side, last year’s G1 Haydock Sprint Cup hero looked to have been beaten by Sceptical (GB) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) inside the final furlong but he battled gamely to regain the initiative in the last 100 yards. Driven out to the line by first-time Royal Ascot winner Kevin Stott, the 4-year-old had a head to spare as Dream of Dreams pulled off a replica of his 2019 effort, with a neck back to the 2-1 favourite Sceptical.

Kingman’s Palace Pier Best In the St James’s Palace

Palace Pier | Racing Post

Frankie is on fire again at his favourite venue and he took the final day of Royal Ascot by storm as he steered TDN Rising Star Palace Pier (GB) (Kingman {GB}) to success in the G1 St James’s Palace S. Settled just behind the frantic pace early, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum’s unbeaten 4-1 shot came wide off the turn and in the last half furlong saw off Pinatubo (Ire) (Shamardal) and Wichita (Ire) (No Nay Never) by a length and a head.

Sea the Moon’s Alpine Star Emulates Alpha Centauri In the Coronation

Alpine Star | Racing Post

Emulating the emphatic G1 Coronation S. victory of her half-sister Alpha Centauri (Ire) (Mastercraftsman {Ire}) two years ago, the Niarchos Family’s Alpine Star (Ire) (Sea the Moon {Ger}) was also in a class of her own as she registered a 4 1/4-length success. Racing behind the leading duo early under Frankie Dettori, the 9-2 shot who was last seen winning the G2 Debutante S. forged up the rail in early straight and had command before the furlong pole en route to her dismissal of the GI Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf heroine Sharing (Speightstown), who in turn denied the 2-1 favourite Quadrilateral (GB) (Frankel {GB}) by two lengths.

Another For Kodiac As Nando Parrado Causes Coventry Shock

Nando Parrado | Racing Post

There was a shock in the G2 Coventry S., as Clive Cox and Adam Kirby united to land the spoils with Nando Parrado (GB) (Kodiac {GB}). Fifth on debut over this trip at Newmarket June 4, Marie McCartan’s 150-1 shot was always up with the pace and after gaining the edge passing the two pole kept finding to score by 3/4 of a length from Qaader (Ire) (Night of Thunder {Ire}), with Saeiqa (GB) (Shalaa) a length back in third.

Kodiac’s Campanelle Takes the Queen Mary

Campanelle | Racing Post

Providing Wesley Ward with that much sought-after Royal winner on the final day, Campanelle (Ire) (Kodiac {GB}) captured a fourth G2 Queen Mary S. for the perennial visitor. Kept wide by Frankie Dettori from her one draw, the 9-2 shot arrived at the fore along with the smoother-travelling Sacred (GB) (Exceed and Excel {Aus}) heading the final furlong and had more in the tank at the finish to prevail by 3/4 of a length, with a comfortable margin back to Caroline Dale (GB) (Lethal Force {Ire}) in third. Ballydoyle’s TDN Rising Star More Beautiful (War Front), the even-money favourite, was eighth.
