The victory marks the first grade 1 score for the 3-year-old son of Hard Spun.

obert Donaldson’s Spun to Run opened a clear lead early and held off a late charge from favored Omaha Beach  to win the $1 million Big Ass Fans Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) Nov. 2 at Santa Anita Park.

Spun to Run, a 3-year-old son of Hard Spun , completed the two-turn mile on the main track in 1:36.58. Favored Omaha Beach was second followed by longshot Blue Chipper.

Spun to Run, who earned his first grade 1 win in the Dirt Mile, is trained by Juan Carlos Guerrero and jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. was aboard.
