+BAIYOUNA (FR) (f, 3, Sea the Stars {Ire}–Balankiya {Ire}, by Darshaan {GB}) raced off the pace in rear through halfway in this unveiling. Making relentless headway on the outside once into the straight, the 33-10 second choice ponced for control entering the final furlong and was pushed out to comfortably account for Belfast (Fr) (Manduro {Ger}) by 1 3/4 lengths. The homebred bay is a half-sister to GI Secretariat S. victor Bayrir (Fr) (Medicean {GB}) and the 2-year-old colt Balannjar (Fr) (Redoute’s Choice {Aus}). Her dam is a winning daughter of the stakes-winning G2 Prix de l’Opera third Balanka (Ire) (Alzao), who also produced G2 King Edward VII S.-winning sire Balakheri (Ire) (Theatrical {Ire}) and G3 Derrinstown Stud 1000 Guineas Trial victress Baliyana (Ire) (Dalakhani {Ire}) and is from a family which includes G1 Prix du Jockey Club-winning sire Bering (GB) (Arctic Tern). GOFFS: Group 1 Lockinge Success For Orby Graduate Ribchester
 
 

Goffs Orby Sale enjoyed more Group 1 success at Newbury on Saturday as Ribchester made all to land the Group 1 Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes in some style, providing Godolphin with a fourth win in the race in five years.

Described by Richard Fahey as “the best horse I’ve ever trained”, the four year old son of Iffraaj won the Group 1 Prix Jacques Le Marois at Deauville last August and was placed twice at Group 1 level prior to Saturday’s Lockinge victory.  Ribchester’s connections will hope to make a winning return to Royal Ascot next month as he goes to the Queen Anne Stakes.  

Ribchester was sold at the 2014 Orby Sale by the Irish National Stud for €105,000 to Highfield Farm.  He was also sold as a foal at Goffs November Sale by Kilmore Stud to Jamie Railton Bloodstock. Click here to view Ribchester’s pedigree.

Mondo: Soul Stirring prima vincitrice Classica per Frankel. A Naas rimane imbattuto Caravaggio. In Germania Poetic Dream

 
Non c’è stato solo il Derby Italiano nella domenica mondiale del galoppo Classico. In Giappone abbiamo assistito alla prima vittoria Classica per un figlio di Frankel, che si è materializzato a Tokyo grazie alla femmina Soul Stirring (Frankel e Stacelita), vincitrice delle Yushun Himba (Japanese Oaks) per Kazuo Fujisawa ed i colori della Shadai con in sella Cristophe Patrice Lemaire che in Francia montava sua madre Stacelita (Monsun). Al secondo posto Mozu Katchan (Harbinger) con al terzo Admire Miyabi (Heart’s Cry), grigia montata da Mirco Demuro. 
Soul Stirring era imbattuta a 2 anni con la vittoria anche al massimo livello, a 3 era rientrata con una franca affermazione nel Tulip Sho G3 tanto da essere favorita nelle Oka Sho (le 1000 Ghinee JAP) vinte però da Reine Minoru (Daiwa Major), con Soul Stirring terza. IL VIDEO QUI. IL RISULTATO COMPLETO QUI.
 
In Germania c’erano le Mehl-Mulhens-Rennen G2, le 2000 Ghinee tedesche a Colonia, vinte da Poetic Dream (Poet’s Voice) per Andreas Wohler ed Edu Pedroza a bordo, che ha risolto in lotta con il Willy Haggas Lockheed (Exceed And Excel) al secondo ed Empire Of The Stars (Siyouni) al terzo. Allevato dalla Rabbah Bloodstock, è prodotto di Zain Al Boldan (Poliglote), la quale è mezza sorella di del buon Svedov (Exit To Nowhere). Di questa famiglia c’è un esponente in Italia in Gold Zain. Quanto al sire del Darley Poet’s Voice (Dubawi), è il terzo vincitore Classico per lui dopo Mi Raccomando e Poeta Diletto, vincitori in Italia rispettivamente di Regina Elena 2017 e Premio Parioli 2016. IL VIDEO QUI. IL RISULTATO COMPLETO QUI.
 
In Irlanda, a Naas, ha mantenuto il suo score illibato il già vincitore di G1 a 2 anni Caravaggio (Scat Daddy), ritornato in azione con una vittoria nelle Lacken Stakes G3 sui 1200 metri per Aidan O’Brien. Montato da Ryan Moore ha surclassato i rivali preparandosi al meglio per la Commonwealth Cup G1 del Royal Ascot, suo prossimo obiettivo in un ippodromo che ne ha già celebrato le gesta nelle Covestry Stakes G2 a 2 anni.
